About

84th Reading (Ist Earley St Peters) Scouts are a vibrant Scout group based in Earley, Reading.  We have a Beaver colony, 2 Cub packs and 2 Scout groups.  Young people get to take part in a fantastic range of activities, to see some of some of these take a look at our blog.  Our recent growth shows that we are doing something right.

We are a family friendly group and when young people join us, so do their families. We aim to include parents in as much as possible whether its helping out at weekly meetings, fundraising or just helping out with a bit of DIY at our Headquarters. Many of our adult leaders are also parents.

Every year we arrange a family camp, which is always extremely popular. One of the great things about it is that as a parent you can take part in activities with your children, such as climbing, abseiling and rifle shooting. It really is great fun!

We aim to make life an adventure for all of our members. If you think you would like to join that adventure, why not get in touch via the join us tab above.

Our Scouts meet on Mondays and Fridays at our headquarters located behind St Peter’s Church, Church Road, Earley.  Cubs meet on Mondays at Loddon School, Silverdale Road, Earley and Beavers meet on Fridays at Radstock School, Radstock Lane, Earley.

In Scouting, we believe that young people develop most when they are ‘learning by doing,’ when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.  For more information on Scouting today please see our Blog or the Scout Association website.

The 84th Reading Scout Group is a registered charity (Charity No 268450) and is part of the Loddon District of the Scout county of Royal Berkshire.
